Mary-Anne Morgan writing on the Itinerant Music Teachers’ Concert
How exciting it was to hear the Wellesley Orchestra and music students perform to such a high standard in the annual Itinerant Music Teachers’ concert recently.
Around 60 boys learn music 1:1 with a music tutor during school time at Wellesley. The annual concert is an opportunity for students who are ready, to perform to an appreciative audience of parents, friends and family.
The diverse programme delivered exceptional performances by the boys on a range of instruments from all areas of the orchestra as well as voice, in a range of styles from classical to rock.
The high standard of performance is particularly noteworthy considering the challenges of lockdown this year. Music lessons and orchestra rehearsals continued online without missing a beat, even during the school holidays.
Congratulations to all students who performed, and to music teachers and parents for your contribution to your son’s musical journey.
